Apple's fall event: iPhone 16 series makes a stunning debut

Apple's Fall Launch Event Draws Global Attention

In the early morning hours of September 10th, Beijing time, Apple held its highly anticipated Apple special event online, the “Fall New Products Launch”. The event attracted widespread attention in the international technology arena, and as always, Apple demonstrated its excellence in innovation and technology. The launch event as a whole successively updated three major categories of hardware products, namely Apple Watch, AirPods and iPhone, and brought a brand new technology experience to consumers around the world.

iPhone 16 Base Model: The Perfect Blend of Performance and Design

The base model of iPhone 16 is divided into two models, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, with display sizes of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches respectively. The starting prices on the U.S. website are $799 and $899, respectively. In terms of storage capacity, there are three options: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. In terms of appearance, it adopts aluminum metal with fused-color glass back panel, available in five identical colors: black, white, pink, dark cyan, and ultramarine, showing off its style and elegance. Meanwhile, the new generation of Super Ceramic Crystal panel has increased the hardness by 50% compared to its predecessor, providing stronger protection for the phone.

The rear camera module has been redesigned from the square shape of the iPhone 15 to a “pill” shape, and the two cameras have been changed from diagonal to vertical. The model is equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with up to 6x optical zoom range for an even better shooting experience. In addition, the original mute switch has been changed to an “operation button”, which not only allows you to switch between ringing and mute modes, but also allows you to quickly turn on the camera and flashlight, recognize music, and turn on voice memos, which greatly improves the ease of operation.

In terms of hardware, the chip in iPhone 16 has been upgraded to A18, based on a 3nm process, and the A18's 16-core neural network engine is optimized for large-scale generative models, running machine learning models up to two times faster than the A16 bionic chip, making the iPhone 16 series Apple's next-generation of smartphones for AI. The A18's 6-core CPU is up to 30 percent faster than the A16 bionic chip and faster than all competing chips, Apple noted in a press release.

iPhone 16 Pro Series: Top-of-the-line, trend-setting.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively, with 6.9 inches being the largest screen in Apple's history. On the U.S. website, they are $999 and $1,099, respectively. iPhone 16 Pro is available in Desert, Original Titanium, White, and Black colors, with storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, and Pro Max is available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

Compared to the iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 Pro series has more high-end features. It has additional “ProMotion” Adaptive Refresh Rate technology, an upgraded Ultra Wide Angle to 48 megapixels, an optical zoom range of up to 10x, and a 4K 120 fps mode that supports Dolby video capture, providing a powerful tool for professional photographers and video creators.
